Light in the Darkness
To shine a light in the darkness is not an easy thing. It requires the vision to understand why the darkness exists in the first place and the empathy to speak to that darkness saying, “I see you. I hear you. I am you,” so that you can turn it into light gently.
That’s been a struggle for me these past few days. I was determined when I made the transition from full-time singer to Singing Healer to shine light wherever I could: to inspire, to heal, to guide, to empathize, to grow with, to fail with, to journey with, and to walk the path with each and every one of you.
But being a beacon can’t just be all sunshine and rainbows and it’s-going-to-be-okays.
Sometimes being a beacon means recognizing the enclosing darkness and just having the will to fight like hell to keep it at bay.
So today, on what is Pentecost Sunday (for my non-Christian siblings: today is a Christian holiday celebrating God’s gift to us all of the Power of the Holy Spirit, aka divine wisdom, aka the light of Christ), I say to you: everything is NOT okay. We are all broken, but we are also all redeemable.
If you have hate in your heart, anger in your heart, resentment in your heart, fear in your heart, sadness in your heart, despair in your heart, THAT IS FINE. But I encourage you to ask yourself, “WHY?”. What are your motives? If you can be truly vulnerable and honest with yourself, you might find something you don’t like. And if you find something you don’t like, you might realize that you’d like to change it. And if you’d like to change it, reach out. I’m here. I’ve got you. It doesn’t matter which side of the river you’re on, I’m here to help you cross over to your siblings on the other side.
Here, you won’t find judgement, you’ll find healing.
You won’t find anger, you’ll find empathy. But you also won’t find enabling. Here you’ll get hard truths, growth, and a clearly lit path to ascension. If that last phrase made your heart race, lean in. Reach out. And let’s see what we can build together. I got you.
